H.E.L.P.

The H.E.L.P. loan program began in 2014 because of the clear community need for access to medical equipment and assistive devices that were often too expensive for one-time purchase or were not covered under medical insurance. Because of the generosity of local business and community members, gently used items were donated, and we were able to launch this loan program. Then, in 2022, we were able to fully renovate and purchase our on-site facility so that we have a permanent space in our community. Thanks to volunteers from four local churches who manage the loan program on-site, individuals are able to borrow gently-used medical items until there is no longer a need.
 

How can I borrow an item?

Anyone is welcome to participate in our loan program, regardless of age, disability, or residency. Simply visit the on-site building, which is located at 3925 Churchville Ave Churchville, VA 24421, to request the item(s) you need. We offer short-term loans for three months or less, though we can extend this if you need the items(s) for a longer period of time. No "proof of need" is required, we simply ask that you complete a simple contract agreement, and then you're all set!

How can I give?

H.E.L.P. is 100% volunteer-run and your gift makes it possible for us to operate our on-site facility and purchase additional items as needed. We also welcome donations of gently-used items to ensure that we can offer a robust inventory of options for our patrons.
