Giving

“Use whatever gift you’ve received for the good of one another so that you can show yourselves to be good stewards of God’s grace in all its varieties.” 1 Peter 4:10

Why give?

Scripture tells us that “the earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it; the world, and those who live in it” (Psalm 24:1), which reminds us that everything we are and everything we have belongs to God. Being good stewards of what we have been given is an important responsibility that encourages us to care for and protect all that is precious.

Stewardship is an invitation for us to use the gifts we have received for the good of one another. How have you experienced God’s grace? What gifts have you received? How have you used them for the good of others?

Giving to the church is an act of worship in itself, and an opportunity for us to offer praise and thanksgiving to God for what we have been given. Your gift to St. Peter’s provides important financial support for our clergy and the maintenance of our place of worship, and allows us to care for those in need and spread the word of God through acts of service.
